A Burial of Sight

A pamphlet of poems exploring new directions and the tensions involved in finding form. These are transitional poems heading somewhere new yet still on the journey.

‘For Ellie, place is a mysterious force as much as anything else, and all the poems in her pamphlet delve into earth and stone, through brick and concrete, in the search for an answer to a question that, in truth, the poems themselves are an attempt to formulate. In the process, she takes us on strange journeys and through dark places, over the urban landscape to the sea, along the way transforming Merseyside into a contested mythical terrain, beautiful through, as well as in despite of, its industrial archeology and continuing urban change.’
